Not really.

Last 2 finals, look at the scorers. Iniesta and Goetze. They scored in the final but no-one who knows a thing about football would say they had a good world cup at their respective tournaments.

Giroud has been awful. All this crap about how he brings others in to play is just crap. Anyone watch the Argentina hammering? When did he bring Mbappe in to play when the latter ran most of the pitch to win the penalty which griezmann scored?

Mbappe first goal? Pavard goal? Did nothing v Uruguay. This mythical bringing others in to play crap is hilarious.

Why does Deschamps keep starting him then? Why have France made two successive finals in major tournaments with him as a starting striker? Why are you ignoring the multiple goals Griezmann has scored directly as a result of his link-up play with Giroud in recent years?

Woah there ......... apparently stating facts means you're hater.

Please go back to pretending Giroud is a prolific striker.

Have you got anything else to contribute apart from insults and snide remarks?

Facts = agendas?

Maybe its you with the agenda? we're saying Giroud hasn't scored this whole tournament, you seem to have a problem with that "fact".

Apparently hold up play is better than goals.

But much like how I was converted in to a ozil hater and hope we create no chances whatsoever, I will now be a Giroud fan and hope no Arsenal player ever scores a goal.

Auba can't score goals. Hold up play? That's awesome. But scoring goals is a big massive no. Furthermore no running around. Just stand like a lamp post. People will hopefully think he's top quality then.

Needs to spend a lot of time on the floor. That will help. Having shit gay hair also a must. Auba, Laca and any striker we have, never score again

We need to create bingo cards for the excuses made for players on this board.

Giroud - "hold up play"
Welbeck - "work rate"
Wilshere - "true Gooner"
Ozil - "chances created"

That being said, Giroud has been effective in his role at the WC. Deschamps isn't telling him to score goals, he's telling him to play to his strengths, ie getting the ball to better, faster attackers like Mbappe and Griezmann. So 'hold up play' actually applies here.

Jesus I couldn't have said it better myself.

Giroud apparently creates chances, Ozil def creates chances.

One gets slaughtered, while the other with the nice hair gets praised ......... even though his job is score as per his job title.

.......... and people wonder why I get on Giroud fans case, I can handle a thoughtful opposing point of view like Callum put across, I can even relatively agree with it (if that's what your going for) but its the hypocrisy I can 't stomach.

Dude just fk off seriously, calling people tw*ts and banging on about calling Mods yet your out here waving the homophobe card.

If your going to claim the moral high ground then you better be above Sea level.

Either offer something constructive or just butt out.

Just for the record and I don't have to explain myself but being a homophobe means you hate homosexuals, if someone fancies Giroud I don't have a problem with it I'm just saying they should admit it, because you can't defend Giroud on goals scored that's for a fact so hence forth my comment = Not Homophobic.

Why are people still banging on about Giroud ffs? Dude is a Chelsea player now, been pretty shit for them, not scored for France but his role is more to bring others into it.

Average striker, always was, always will be.
