If we're after a high-energy, combative Matic type midfielder, we can do much better.

Leander Dendoncker can do anything N'Zonzi can do, is 7 years younger and far more mobile.

Has been strongly linked with a transfer to United after he bullied their midfielders in the EL last year.

West Ham placed a £25m bid for him the other day, just £2m short of Anderlecht's asking price.

I doubt Wenger has given up on Project Xhaka yet to look for midfielders who'd essentially bench Xhaka.

Granit will continue to headline our midfield until the summer of 2019.

We do need two CMs: one combative type and the other Cazorla type.

I'd be livid if we wasted big money on a mid-table player like N'Zonzi who turns 30 this year and heavily relies heavily on his physical ability.

If mid-table is the target we might as well continue playing Xhaka.

Hes a upgrade on Xhaka in every area.

That doesn't mean he is good enough. Xhaka should never be used as a yardstick.

Hundreds of midfielders in world football could potentially be an upgrade on Xhaka under the right manager and set up.

Powerful, yet sluggish players like him and Krychowiak stand out in the technically superior, but slower-paced and feeble league that is La Liga.

Krychowiak can't even hack it at West Brom and N'Zonzi was the epitome of a mid table player at Stoke.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery wants to make Sevilla midfielder Steven N'Zonzi one of his first signings. Emery signed the 29-year-old Frenchman - a former Blackburn and Stoke player - during his time in charge of the Spanish club. (Mirror)

Those of you upset at Emery wanting experienced players and and not going for young players instead, keep in mind that Emery is not on a 22 year contract. He is being brought in for immediate results.

You cant blame Emery for bringing in experienced players that he has trusted in the past. His job and reputation is on the line and he will not gamble them with a full lineup of young players.

While we carry the attitude that if Emery doesn't work he will be fired or wont be renewed, he is thinking about his career.

I might not agree with his approach this summer but I can certainly understand where he is coming from.

Great signing and improvement on Xhaka and Elneny, strong as an ox, good tackling, tall, great passer, high work rate.
