Don't be so sure.

Top-4 finishes, sans a title challenge, would keep Arteta safe as long as he achieves that.

The best aspect would be Arteta turning out to be the best thing since sliced bread. The in-between would be Arteta finishing out of the top-4, with no trophies. The worst would be Arteta consistently finishing 4th without trophies or title challenges.

The first scenario is the dream. The second scenario would warrant his dismissal. The third would leave fans disgruntled and the board elated. The status quo would remain, so would Mik Aurtiola.

You said it better than I ever could have. History shows that any Football related goals are secondary under the current regime. Arteta, if he is hired, just further proves this
Ramsdale
(Turner/Hein)
White Saliba Gabriel Zinchenko
(Tomiyasu/Niles) (Timber/Holding) (Trusty/Kiwior) (Tierney/Tavares)
Odegaard(c) —- Rice
(Xhaka/Lokonga) —- (Partey/Elneny)
Havertz
(Jorginho/Vieira)
Saka Jesus Martinelli
(Pepe/Nelson) (Nketiah/Balogun) (Trossard/ESR)

Sadly I think you just might be right.

But even a big name manager wouldn't be able to effect Gazidis because he won't have the contractual power to do so, Gazidis is now running the staff.

There is some truth to what your saying because a "big" manager who isn't happy just coaching the team is not going to get the job anyway.
The role they're offering has changed, we just need to get used it, fact is Gazidis is now judged on delivering a winning team, Wenger wasn't.

Gazidis wasn't held responsible for Wenger and Wenger wasn't held responsible for Gazidis so now the aim lands squarely on one person.

Gazidis got rid of Wenger and has taken on the responsibility on his shoulders, good luck to him, his appointments need to work out for him because he is now answerable to the board for the clubs fortunes.

This hullaballoo will continue unless the board announces our next manager.

I just want them to confirm Arteta (or Josh Kroenke) instead of pretending to be busy interviewing candidates.

The bookies have reacted.

He’s in from 100/1 to 10/1.

Why do we drag our feet at absolutely everything, the board are a bunch of idiots who only care about money they don’t give a flying f@ck about success, just do enough to keep the money rolling in

The funny thing is that the board knew Wenger was leaving well before it was announced. They had ample time to scope out a replacement.

Obviously, with their first choice about to compete in a Europa League Final, I guess some delay was expected.

Appointing Arteta would be a very ‘Wenger’ thing to do.

Arteta as coach and Cazorla as assistant, imagine: One who never coached a team but does have experience as right arm or assistant to an established coach, the other, a player who might or might not play again and have no experience of coaching whatsoever.

IF, a big, IF this happens, you could hardly fault Arsenal fans for not being on board with it. And the division would remain.

Well I think we need to start coming to terms with it, it looks like its happening.

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/ ... nagers-job

Head Coach role, again not as a full manager.

This is supposed to be the new structure dream team .............

Chief executive Ivan Gazidis
Head of football relations Raul Sanllehi
Head of recruitment Sven Mislintat
Head coach Arteta

The club dont wanna bother doing whats necessary to get to the top. Theyve given up, theyre defeated and theyre slowly tryna get us to accept our europa league status here. It happened over the years with top 4 and now its europa league, so get used to it. They wont even bother supplying cannon fodder like Arteta a huge budget to play with.

Seriously, thats what it says to everyone when you hire a player whos never been at the helm. Speaks volumes.

Nothings gonna change though. Theyve got another thing coming if they think seats arent gonna be empty again if this goes pete tong. To be honest Im not gonna bother purchasing a red membership or the kit because why should I? The club doesnt clearly bother anymore.

f**k you Gazidis.

And I know we've got a different structure but you still need someone viable and experienced. This is a sham of an appointment if it happens.
