True legend gave his best for the club and played with pain. with two broken achilles tendons he is still better than mustafi

Really unfortunate injury, but this game takes a horrible toll on your body. Mertesacker talked about in detail in his interview.

Next season is going to be a nightmare. Bedding in a new manager, with one of the shoddiest defences in the league.

Depending on the appointment, I don't think it'll be that bad if it's a good one. The players we have in defence now (minus the catwalk king) are all capable of being a lot better with some organization and coaching.

So we need 2 top CBs in the summer.

Also anyone else find it amusing that Kos might be made club captain in the summer only to follow in Arteta and Per's example by never actually being a first team player while having the position?

I swear Van Persie cursed it

It's been cursed ever since Tony Adams retired.

The fact that he was club captain and wanted to leave every season for 3 years since he got the captaincy wasn't a great time tbh.

Same thing with Fab and RVP. As soon as they got it, they wanted out. Then we have the last two.... Kos next I am sure.

In the three seasons he was captain we won the FA Cup, an unbeaten league title, and the FA Cup again.

Sounds like a great time to me.

Was immense and very close to world class for two to three years. Now well past it. I don't think he'll be back from this injury

Jenas was going on about how bad an Achilles was, and if he couldn't deal with it, then Koscielny has very little chance of doing so, especially at his age. A really immense player, but was overplayed, even this season. He was managing this the entire season, and still Wenger let him do so, instead of giving him a break and playing Chambers, Holding or Mavroponas (Not that clown Mustafi). He gave everything for this club.

Well this rubber stamps the desperate need for a top CB. Should be the new managers first job.
