Petr was once world class and is a class act but it seems like it’s over for him at this level. Can barely even go a full game without a couple shocking goal kicks to go along with his keeper errors.

Yes. Thanks Pete. Nice guy and all that, but time for someone younger and better.

Jack Butland will do nicely.

If this was 2013 I would have agreed with you, however Godín has regressed significantly over the last year or two.

Really poor performance against Sociedad on Thursday. He's also not getting any younger.

Pretty sure Giménez has been their best center back and he walks out for free come June.

Not a giant but hard as nails - you'd love him.

Defending Cech at all, let alone on penalty saving technique is dangerous ground. I'm all for a new keeper. This particular penalty though I feel he's actually done OK on. He's active making a hard read on his direction. This activity also adds some momentum to his final lunge that he needs now that his reactions and power are less than they need to be. He takes a nice forward step to cut the angle, Makes a decent lunge low left. He has realized half way through the move that it's gone the other way so he doesn't go to full extension. This is normal on any incorrect guess. If he's gone to full extension then he's moved too early.

My main criticism that always remains with Cech though is that he does not read shot direction. He guesses wrong or gets read WAYYYYY too often. His standard technique is totally static, attempt to read the shot, one step and lunge. He doesn't have the athleticism to do this anymore. What I like to see here is that he tried something different from his normal.

supprised I ain’t seen no one say “he may not play for a big club again let’s give him a 2 year deal because we feel sorry for him” a la cazorla, Rosicky, Kos,
"I've play against him, what? 12, 15, 18 times? , I dunno". "And only once he didn't moan and on that day we lost!" - Jose Mourinho

Rosicky, Cazorla, and Kosc?

Rosicky is a cult hero here - the most gifted player we've had in the Emirates era.

Kosc's the best CB we've had in the same era.

Cazorla is technically the most refined player I've seen at Arsenal since DB10.

U wot m8.

Its the leadership that godin brings which we are lacking imo.
