Play a second string. A draw would be fine. I’d even be super confident of turning over a small deficit in the return leg when playing the first team.

Arghh bless
Let them play with hot water bottles down there shorts wrapped in a blanky
Young fit men paid handsomely to play football
If they are fit they should play
No excuses
They should all be pulling their pipes out to play

first penalty save for god only knows how long seems an eternity since our last spot kick save.

The last penalty save by an arsenal goalkeeper outside of a shoot out was by fabianski when he saved an injury time penalty at bayern Munich in a 1-1 draw 11 th March 2014

Like someone else said most of the team were playing at 50% of their capability, we won the game within the first 20 mins and they were not really trying after not that i really blame them considering who they were playing, we got the third later on and a job well done. People on here will moan over anything. Wellshit and Iwobi kenobody were awful though which came as no surprise.

Did he do well?

And how did Chambers do?

Yes he anchored tonight alongside Elneny.

Going to need to see more of him to judge, he was a bit sloppy at times but made some good efforts to pick up forwards and push them out of their attack.

Have to admit though Elneny looked better imo but I want to see moving forward if Niles will start getting those Vieira tackles in etc, we need a tackling enforcer desperately.

Yes, wasn't that impressed with Niles. Still miles better than Xhaka :hiding:

Him or Elneny need to start ahead of Xhaka. One of them has potential, while the other at least knows his role and isn't caught out a billion times a game. Not like Xhaka's doing more than sideways passing now anyway

The reason is simple. They are just not good enough.

Ozil rarely runs at defenders. Neither does Auba really.

Iwobi does but he's not very good at it.

Nelson and Wilshere are probably the only real 'dribblers' we have in our squad.

We do need more. Especially on the wings.

Actually Welbeck can run at defenders. Whether he can do anything useful after that or not is another question.

As you see. Not even one mention about Chambers all game except in the line up. I think that means he was doing ok.

My bad. Last time I checked on transfermarkt there wasn't any data on him having saved a penalty - they must have updated his page since.

As Transfermarkt don't seem to be very up-do-date and accurate on their penalty statistics I did some additional research.

Apparently he has made one penalty save prior to the Östersunds game and it was indeed against Marseille in 2012.

Just one save, as Ospina did not save Ayoví's penalty against Ecuador. Ayoví put his penalty wide.

For some irrational reason Transfermarkt also include missed (off-target) penalties into the goalkeepers' saved penalties section. How very misleading!

It is misleading
That was where I took my information from
I was staggered to find our last penalty save had been fabianski
Let's hope we can get in the takers nut again
