Odd signing in the 1st place, out of all the quality at Southampton we went for the unknown one that didn't shine, not a real surprise he's not been good enough, always the cheap option with Wenger, made the same mistake when he signed Walcott when he should have signed Bale too.

Sell him, not good enough.

Why do we always do this, sign middle of the road players we end up being lumbered with for years, Chambers, Giroud, Walcott, Welbeck, Gabriel..... so much money wasted!

Chambers was one of their most highly rated academy defenders after Luke Shaw. He was not an unknown, cheap option. He could still come good. I would loan him for another season instead of selling him. This may be Koscielnys last season with us in which case we would need another CB next year.

Noone was really interested in him, Shaw and a few of the other guys were the star players not this guy, we got what we paid for an unproven prospect who as it turns out is rubbish.

A waste of money in my eyes and definitely the cheap option, something we're always guilty of going for.

Continuing his form into the u21's tournament.

He was good on Friday night and been immense tonight. I'd like us to give him a proper chance next season.

I love how fearless he is.

He's been brilliant for the U21's. Him and Holding together has to be England's future (And hopefully Arsenal's)

Newcastle and Southampton are keen to sign Arsenal's 22-year-old defender Calum Chambers. (Evening Chronicle)

Please go. Absolute shite for us and Boro.

Can we recoup the 16m?

Hes been awful. That game v Liverpool still gives all true Arsenal fans nightmares. Then he goes to Boro and anyone see that Payet goal? Chambers had twisted blood.

Actually can't f***ing believe this. I hope we put a buy out clause in this.

We should be looking to move on others player. Chambers definitely could have a future here.

I don't think he has a future as a top level CB. Don't think he's close to Holding and when Kos eventually goes I'd rather us bring in a top level CB than rely on Chambers

It's still very close to call.

Despite Boro being awful last season, Chambers had a good season for him personally and Boro fans heaped praise on him plenty of times.

He also had a good tournament for the u21's aswell.

He's definitely improved and he can only get better so I do find this quite strange as to why we're selling him instead of loaning him out again.
