Very good game in the final but still a ropey defender we need better, not dependable, but then again apart from 1 or 2 who is?

Monreal is a great part of our defence and shows more ability that Koc, Gabriel and Merts combined. (I know that isn't saying much but hey..!!)

The Wing back system really suits him.

If we are going back to a back four we should sell him as his pace is a real libility but assuming we keep the back three he's fine at LCB and even LWB.

I think Wenger will start Mustafi-Kos-Monreal next season. He likes Monreal in there; he's a natural fullback so very comfortable playing out wide and with the ball at his feet, it also means we can switch to a 4 naturally. In the past our weak link has been our left so having two players out there comfortable defending wide will strengthen that. It also benefits Nacho as his pace is declining a little. In addition we don't have a left footed centre half, you don't want defenders constantly defending on their weaker side, this is how you concede penalties or goals at your near post/cut backs.

Was an interesting season for him. Was absolutely skinned down his side at the start of the season, improved as the season went on, but three at the back seemed to really spark a new life into him. Playing as CB, he was so assured in the final and throughout that great run towards the end of the season. Playing as LWB, he got a run of crucial goals, including that big, big equaliser against City to take us to extra time.

Wasn't the best season overall, but he's so consistent. Even when getting skinned, he never lacked desire and always seemed to have 6/10 games, and when he elevated that to 3 in the back, was so solid. Probably one of our most important players last season, definitely in top 3 for me just for his role in winning us the FA Cup.

It's not even because it's only pre season. He's genuinely a very good centre back.

Definitely found his position in a back three now.

Donreal is back.

I'm happy to say I was wrong. Great in this position. Him and Kolasinac can build a very strong left side with Alexis.

Love the passion he showed when he gave our players a proper and well-merited vituperation after shipping the Vardy header.

Doesn't really fit in well in the middle of the back three, for instance on Vardys first goal someone like Mertesacker/Koscielny would have stuck out a foot to block that cross, anyways he played well considering the circumstances and in future he should only play LCB/LWB.

I'd still have him as our third centre-back alongside Koscielny and Mustafi once they return.

I'd rather see holding as the central cb than monreal.
cheers!
