We need to transition players like Cazorla into a coaching role to teach youth midfielders. Ofc Caz still has a few years left to play first-team football, but it's absurd how many Arsenal players join the coaching staff at rival teams.

Could say the same about united - Sparky, Bruce, Solskaer, Keane, Neville and now Giggs. They don't have any legends in their hierarchy either. Neither do Liverpool or Chelsea.

True but those teams can just swap in 3-4 top players each season from across all the European leagues. We won't fight them in a bidding war save for the odd ~30-50 million player once every 3 years or so. We need youth players to come good. The last prospect that made a mark here was Fabregas and RVP and that was ages ago.

Firstly don't know what that has to do with hiring ex players. United s academy in fact bring through more talent than ours and they don't have any ex players on staff.
Regarding your point about Cesc and rvp. Neither were youth players. Youth players like Bellerin, Iwobi, Coquelin and Wilshere are all in the first team.

Arsenal Season 2014/15: Crap start to the season, Santi-Coq in midfield tried, great end to the season and managed to scare Chelsea
Arsenal Season 2015/16: Electrifying start, Santi injured, season over, struggled to 2nd on the last day
Arsenal Season 2016/17: Good start, second and just behind the champions, managed to beat Chelsea (Currently favourites to win), Santi got injured, season over, struggling to control midfield

Could Payet replace Cazorla as the central midfield metronome?

We already have one

And Payet doesn't hold any of the traits applicable to playing deep

We need Verratti at all costs.

Give PSG Wenger + 60m.

Wenger would go down in history as the first manager to be involved in a player exchange deal

Knowing his ego and arrogance, He'd revel in it

Would be hilarious since it makes Wenger's next job harder as well. Maybe he'll want Ramsey in return
