Christoph Metzelder

Just read on Sky Sports Transfer Centre

Hammers hunt Djourou - Sunday Mirror

After selling Anton Ferdinand to Sunderland, West Ham boss Alan Curbishley will use the money to make an £8million bid for Arsenal defender Johan Djourou. Would Djourou be better than Ferdinand?

Gunners ask for Real stopper - The People

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made an enquiry to sign Real Madrid defender Christoph Metzelder on loan. Would the German be a good recruit?

Can't believe for a second AW would sell Johan. Metzhelder although he had a shitty season could rebuild his career here, if true. I thought he was a solid defender at Dortmund.

Djourou looks like a quailty player, and i dont think arsene will sell him, but i would like metzhelder in on loan, with option to buy.

Could we persuade Christoph to join us with a nice seat on the bench?

Great for the season in terms of back up and would be a decent coup

^^^ I wouldn't expect him to be back-up, I'd expect him to be challenging once he beds in. Like I said, I really rated him at Dortmund. Very experienced.

i just read the metzelder story on The People's website. i wouldn't read too much into this just yet, especially from a paper who reports that we SOLD senderos to milan, and we beat fD twente midweek. if they cant even get details of what has happened right, they have no chance of predicting who we're gonna buy. god, i hate the press!

but, metzelder would certainly be welcomed by me. if, as was previously stated, we can convince him away from his place on the bench in spain, to a place on the bench here.

I think metzelders good, but tbh reminds me of a quicker senderos. Good in the air but his mental abilities really arent that good, seems clumsy to me. But i'd love to have him in on loan/perm deal think he could be a great backup, not sure about first team but right now im not too pleased about gallas or even toure.

Djourou for £8m wouldnt be bad, im not really sure how good he is havent seen him much.

I don't see this as the time to be selling or loaning anymore of our squad defenders. We're too thin on the ground.

Metzelder is a really good defender, we would be greatly strengthened if he came.

Would be a class signing but I doubt there's any truth to the rumour. Le boss has stated he wasn't interested in strengthening the defence.....amply proven by the signing of Silvestre.....

£8m for Djourou?!
That's a hell of a lot for a kid of his age and experience!

Would rather keep him though....

Tell silvestre to f**k off back to citeh, we get metzelder AND keep djourou! Brute defence!

Then roll in ronaldo breaker for the midfield! perfect team!
