No outright candidate this times, which makes me think Leo will win Best Actor.

Moi predictions:

Best Picture - The Revenant
Best Director - Alejandro G. Inariitu
Best Actor - Leonardo DiCaprio (Finally!)
Best Actress - Brie Larson (Room)
Best Supporting Actor - Sly Stallone (Easy choice really, but don't think they'll give it to him)
Best Supporting Actress - Kate Winslet, Steve Jobs
Best Original Screenplay - Inside Out
Best Adapted Screenplay - Room
Best Cinematography - The Revenant (Easy choice)
Best Animated Film - Inside Out
Best Foreign Language Film - Son of Saul

Revenant's gonna win big, moite.

No way they go for Inarritu two years in a row. Spotlight will get picture and Miller director. Agree that DiCaprio will finally get his due, but mostly because it's a weak year for lead actors. We also both know that an animated film isn't going to win in a major category. Spotlight for original and The Big Short for adapted screenplay.

Thought about that too.

But the way Inarritu managed the scale of Revenant is praise-worthy. Also, looking at the trend, Mad Max hasn't won in most awards and the trend is usually a give-away.

I can see Miller getting Best Director and Revenant getting Best Film. Spotlight is a worthy punt and wouldn't complain if it wins Best Film.

Come on, Hardy.

The Revenat should mostly sweep if we're being honest.

Mad Max, Revenant and The Martian only films from best picture anyone's heard of.

Rest look like the usual boring crap nominated for this award.

^ Black Mass?

He was good - one of his better performances lately, but don't think he was better than Leo. Plus, the hype of Revenant obviously helped.

Is there a particular reason why Star Wars has no nominations? Does it not qualify?

Star Wars has been nominated for Best -

Sound Editing

Sound Mixing

Film Editing

Visual Effects

Original Score

But none of the major categories. Reckon you should look to get your money back.
