This is becoming a common tactic, sign a Spanish player when they're 16 to circumvent Spanish law which prevents them signing contracts with Spanish clubs until they're 18, build him up a bit, then sell him back at an inflated amount.

No, it's how we got Cesc in the first place.

Hector Bellerín (24)

Postby Arsenal~Fanatic » Fri Jul 17, 2015 9:44 pm

The Spaniard has put pen to paper on what is believed to be a four-year deal following a breakthrough season at the Emirates.

The former Barcelona right-back made 28 appearances for the Gunners last term and impressed both in defence and going forwards, scoring twice against Aston Villa and Liverpool.

Bellerin joined Arsenal in 2011 from Barcelona's La Masia academy and he had been linked with a move back to the Catalan giants but he has now ended any speculation over his future.

He has represented Spain at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level.

Earlier this month, Bellerin spoke of his desire to build on last season and help Arsene Wenger's side to more silverware.

He said: "My goal has always been to improve, work hard and fight for a place in the starting XI.

"Last season I got the minutes that I was hoping for and I hope that next season I can do the same.

"I’m really, really excited for the new season. The way we finished this season, the team have really come together and we’ve had some great performances, especially since the New Year.

"The team really feel like we can beat any team in the world with the performances we’ve had, so we’re all really, really excited to hopefully start the season with the right mindset and with the right results.

"Hopefully by the end of next season we can win some more trophies."

Excellent news, we need to keep him close to the fold for a very long time.

Yup absolutely delighted with this bit of news. He is going to have plenty of interest shown in him if he continues to rise. Nice to tie him him down to a long term contract.

Yeah, I can see it being renegotiated within 2 seasons, once bellerin gets into full flow and begins to fill out, he's going to be beastly.

The pace, the poise, the technique, he just needs to gain some strength and hone is timing in the tackle.

He's frikkin amazing.

I wonder if he could ever make a Bale like transition further up on the right?

Calling it now....

Delighted with the news. He's an incredible talent who'll probably go on to become one of the best RBs in the world. When he leaves, we're gonna make tons of profit. Until then, I can't wait to see what he does with us.
