Frustrated and hits out at summer sales

May be Sagna knows that he is the last top player left and he is next in line to be sold. May be he can sense it already. He has seen the club selling all the top players one after the other in successive windows. Current players are the best judge of a club's transfer policy and isn't it a wake up call if there wasn't one already that players have resigned to the fact that we are a selling club. When our last top player isn't sure of his stay at the club what message will it send out to players we are looking to sign? Selling Cesc, Nasri, RVP and Song in successive windows has not only seriously undermined our competitiveness on the pitch but also our profile as a club.

People said how Clichy wasn't good enough for Arsenal yet he had a terrific season for city last year.

People said how Na$ri was a one season wonder yet he has displaced Silva from the team.

People said how RVP was a one and a half season wonder and was a crock yet he has already scored a hatrick for United.

People said how Wenger was right in offloading song and i am sure he will have a great season for Barca.

This has to stop somewhere. Sometimes people need to stop making excuses for selling our best players one after the other. Sagna is such a player who will have a top season for anybody he signs for. He is world class ''defensively'' and is one of those players who manages to stay in form more often than not. He rarely has these very few horrific performances. After we sold RVP and Song were sold in the last window i do not feel anything. Nothing would surprise me anymore.

As good as he is. And i really do like him. But he is not good enough to be talking like that. Probably is on his way.
I want Carl Jenkinson back in a Arsenal shirt next season.

Just bored international break journalism... We have said negotiations will begin in the coming weeks, its an open ended statement made by Sagna, most probably unknowingly, and some lazy sports journos have jumped all over it...

Cos heaven forbid Arsenal have a steady ship for any period of time

It's encouraging how many feel a "decent season" is grounds for overspending on player retention. Decent is good enough now, and Wengers plan to propel us into further mediocrity is the popular vote (see Wenger in or out thread) I'm about done in with this nonsense.

Funny how one newspaper article and he goes from being 'the best right back in the world' to 'average'.

Funny isn't it

When players like Sagna start hitting out at the club, it should tell you all you need to know. He has been our most consistent player since the day he arrived, no other RB in the world is as good as him defensively and he has stepped up offensively in the last couple of seasons.

Can't blame him can you. In 12 months he has seen over half of our first team walk out the door. Sagna is the most professional, respectful player in the squad and I'd wager he's a gent of a person too. When he says something like this the club should listen.

On the subject of his contract I don't think there's much to worry about. Providing he comes back strong and doesn't go and break his leg again (for christ sake Arsenal don't rush him back), he'll be offered at least a 2 year deal this season and will probably sign it.

Why do i get the feeling he's going in January?
