I just know from spraining my several times.

Never broken anything, but I had an x-ray after a real bad sprain playing b-ball in the driveway as a kid.

Out of curiosity, have you gone about sorting your ankles out with any strengthening or stretching exercises?

Just wondered as I've finally joined a local 11-a-side team, problem is I gave up the school team in year 8 (at the age of 13... 15 years ago!) in favour of graffiti  and the only football I've played regularly since school is 5-a-side. 5-a-side is more hardcore than people give it credit for, it's high intensity, you're always involved, and there's lots of changing direction, so I turned my ankles on occasion. I haven't played 5-a-side regularly for about three years now either.

So basically I'm gonna be f**ked when I start trying to play to play for 90 minutes!!!

I could escape the odd 20 minute 5-a-side game without injury, but I'm fully expecting to get regular injuries after the 60 minute mark in a 90 minute game... more than likely it'll be the ankles!

Well, I'm not sure I'd say I've had the greatest success avoiding minor things. I've had my share of tendinitis and things like that in my achillies and now I've jacked both my knees practicing with the girls team I coach. Not to mention foot pain after any game I play in an outfield position. Just from yesterday, when I was only taking a few shots at practice and not even running hardly at all I have some pain in my shin, almost like shin splints...

That said... I've always just used those big rubber band things. Just loop the end around your toe while you're sitting and move your foot around. I also have started using that to try to help with my knees. Fairly certain I've torn my meniscus in both this season. I haven't been to the doctor as of yet, but chances are I'm going to need to get them scoped.

Falling apart!

I'm sure if I got checked out from head to toe there would be plenty of damage to find. Old injuries that haven't healed properly, little inbalances here and there... too late to start sorting it out though! Just carry on playing, pretending it doesn't hurt as much as it does... The manly way! Grrrrrrr!

So I was just juggling with a couple of the girls tonight, and had to Chase one they kicked over my head and my knee gave out again. No more pain than I've had, just a nice reminder it still doesn't work...

He was due to start it Monday and appear in Tuesday/Yest'days Reserve game but unfortunately it did not go to plan.

He MAY still feature in the FA Cup tie from what I've heard due to the fact AW likes to play the cup comp's as "match fitness warm-ups". However wouldn't get a 90 min' run.

If not he should def be available for Bolton, on Feb 1st.

He's been sorely missed.

A quick return for Gibbs and Wenger has his wish........ no moneys spent in January! Mwuhahahahahaha!
