There was an article on arsenal.com last season where Jay Thomas said that his favourite position is in the centre of midfield.

In a reserves game against West Ham (when Wilshere scored that curler) Thomas partnered Diaby in the centre of midfield and looked better than Diaby. That was the first time that I noticed him, considering Diaby was supposed to be the next Vieira I actually thought Thomas looked the more likely Vieira replacement.

Bouldy says he has been trying to persuade Thomas to play CB but that Thomas was having none of it. He has been playing on the wing and (I think) he's our youth team's top scorer. He is a great all-rounder. We've been saying for a couple of years now that we need a monster in midfield and Thomas certainly looks ready for a physical battle.

Could Jay Emmanuel-Thomas become the English Patrick Vieira, or is he another youngster who is likely to go out on loan and disappear into the lower divisions a la Connolly, Stokes etc?

Hoping he will find his way back to the Premier League and maybe in the future he'll come back to Arsenal an even better player.

No, i haven't seen one comment from the club about work rate. Wenger, in one interview, said the word 'attitude' and everyone started questionning his work rate.
