No one knew what Emery was capable of, but what we did know, was that it wasn’t going to be obvious in the first season, given the cards he was dealt.
I wasn't following football then, so don't know how SAF coached then. But I think people get caught up on the time too much. It's not so much about how long he has or hasn't been our coach, it's about how he has coached and the absolutely mind boggling decisions he has made. So keep that in mind, it's not about the timing, it's about his actions. Maybe SAF didn't do well at the start of his Utd tenure, but I would happen a guess he wasn't as idiotic as Unai is now.
