Mauricio Pochettino, new Arsenal manager?

Postby #ST » Wed Nov 20, 2019 1:11 pm

I didn't add a poll because there are so many factors to it and I prefer us to discuss about this rather than just hold a vote.

The factors being:
Would he want it?
But even more importantly, do WE?

Is it realistic at all that our management makes this move which for any management is a very bold one indeed?

Im curious about your opinions.

Not if you just want him to be, but also how realistic you think it is that this happens at all?

For me, I've always rated this guy. I think he would come if we made the move but I don't think at all we have that boldness in us at all.

Let me know what your own thoughts are!

He won the top 4 trophy :hiding:

Wouldn't it be the ultimate f**k you to Spuds though if he came to us and DID win a prize?

He'd make us play better football that's for sure.. Then again who wouldn't these days.

Harry Redknapp reckons axed Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino could take the Arsenal job - because Gunners fans would even cheer Saddam Hussein if they are winning. :rofll: :rofll: :rofll:

Him being triphyless means nothing. He was at Spurs ffs

Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern won’t hesitate to hire him, if he goes to one of them and insta wins a league title (which is a given for the latter two) does that automatically make him good?

Imo he’s a top 5 manager in the world and he knew this was coming. He wanted to get rid of the big names who - quells surprise- have failed to perform this year for him

He would be a massive success here and is similar to when Klopp left Dortmund when he was majorly underperforming

I doubt he will come here but he's one of the best head coaches in world football.

Spurs did not even buy a f***ing player in the Summer 2018-19 window and he got to the Champions League final!

In the same season Jose threw a hissy fit when he wasn't given more money on top of the 400mil he already wasted in two very underwhelming seasons at United.

Modern football has a plethora of very overrated players so you need elite coaches like Poch to train players within a system they understand and build within that style. I think things at Spurs have got over political. Kane and Alli especially while good players clearly are highly overrated and not up to their previous levels which they overachieved to gt to anyway and the maverick, true quality player who made Spurs tick in Eriksen wants to go and cannot be arsed anymore. Poch wanted to sell a number of these guys but they all have stayed to believe the hype which has now come crashing down on them.

I rate him higher than guys like Simeone even. If given a substantial budget he will win many, many trophies with a team like Bayern, Madrid, Juve, Man City, wherever he goes.

Had a far better squad than Wenger for years, not to mention England's best striker, and never came close to a domestic trophy. Relied on Moura's purple patch to get past City and Ajax. Capitulated to Kane and played his injured ass in the CL final.

No trophies in 10 years of management.

Hasn't even managed to win once in the PL against failing Emery.

14th in the league after spending £150m in the summer. 25 points from his last 24 PL games.

Time to retire to the farm.

Got to love gw. Hate Emery when on 20+ game unbeaten run. Or when third. Or top 6

Want someone who's in 14th and hasn't won a thing
