Ended with a win and 8th place. I wasn't even an adult when we last finished outside the top 6. I was hoping for the results to go differently but hey ho. At least John Terry didn't strip off to reveal a Villa kit. Meanwhile, Utd set a record for most penalties in a season and get more millions to play with after Leicester caved in. A former Utd player gets sent off, the son of a Utd legend gifts them a 2nd goal and 66 points gets 3rd, when just over a year ago, 70 points saw us finish 5th. Ah well. A cup final to look forward to after waving off Watford to a 46 game season which will definitely require some cojones.

David Silva's gonna be such a huge loss for City next year, absolutely massive signing which changed their club arguably as much as Aguero.


Sad to see him go tbh, won't be sad to see them lineup against us without him though. To think he was another we were closely linked with, would've been a glorious player to have alongside Cazorla, Rosicky etc.

we were second for like a week, the week before we played Man City.

Since last few games we're playing without 3 of our back 4, remove that from any team and see what happens.

Its annoying as the last game before shut down felt like we had got our groove back and would have coasted the last 9 games to a comfortable top 4 but we've never got going after starting up again

We were without bellerin for 6 weeks, kolasinac 2 weeks and Tierney for 3 months all at the same time. For a particular game( arteta 1st home game v chelsea) we were without all these plus holding,sokratis ceballos and martinelli. I never complain about injuries. They are part and parcel of the game. Thats why you have a squad

I'd disagree. It's been a PR run narrative for a while.

Silva didn't even play in the World Cup final in 2010 (Cesc did). Silva was also the first to be subbed off in the final of Euro 2012 where both Cesc and Silva started. I'm talking about Cesc primarily because Cesc has gone from being rightly rated to underrated, while Silva has—all of a sudden—developed a Maradona-esque reputation.

City's best player during their first two title wins (and the FA Cup win) was actually Yaya Toure. But you won't find their PR driving home this fact.

Silva is definitely a top quality player. The current hype around him where he's apparently Iniesta-caliber is absolutely nonsense, however. He couldn't even break into the Spain side when Iniesta, Xavi, and Alonso were at the top of their games.

While it's become fashionable to shade Ozil and Cesc in favor of Silva, it's also telling that Ozil has more career assists than Silva, and Cesc has more career assists as well as Premier League assists than Silva. Yet, I don't see either in the discussion of great Prem midfielders.

Silva is class. But this is PR 101.
