Arsenal completed an unbeaten season on an absolute shoe string, there was no FM style unlimited coin hacks available to us.
That alone puts things into perspective for me and I don't think anyone should ignore that when considering.
Barca completing a treble this season isn't that surprising given the talent they have shipped in and the wads of cash thrown at it.
The invincible squad cost the same as a summer transfer window from the man u treble winning side.
That means something.
Billions of pounds in the 1999 United team which featured the class of 1992?

City and Chelsea into the billions to achieve what they have.
Man u multiple millions to get to a treble. Iirc they had Ferdinand at 30m at a time where 30m was unheard of plus more.
They did bring through a lot of home grown talent too, but the players outside of that were coming for world and/or league record breaking transfer fees at a time where everyone else was broke in comparison.
It's easy for people to dismiss, forget or just not understand how big an advantage they had back then. Even now, they still do only others have joined their table and they cant stand it.
That treble winning team wasn't some cobbled together band of misfits from around the international lower leagues.
The invincibles team however. I'd actually love to see the money spent figures for all clubs since the start of the prem, might help some put things into perspective.
