Top 5 Strikers of the PL Era

Postby Angelito » Sat Nov 04, 2017 2:30 pm

Reading this article by Shearer, it hit me just how effective Aguero has been in his time here. He's no doubt the most underrated striker in club football. It's just strange.

Nonetheless, who do you think are the top-5 strikers - *after* Henry - of the Premier League era? Henry's sure to win it, so I've excluded Henry from the discussion.

We have had plenty of world-class pure strikers: Shearer, van Nistelrooy, van Persie, Aguero, Tevez, Suarez, Fowler, Owen, Wright, Drogba, Costa, etc. Just vote for those who'd round-off the top-5 best strikers of the Premier League era - excluding Henry.

Vote away and make sure to explain why.

Aguero
Van Persie

RVN is never going to get a lot of love on an Arsenal forum.

Aguero
Shearer
RVP*
Suarez
RVN

*RVP could have been the best had it not been for injuries. The most technically gifted striker the league has ever seen along with Henry (obviously not including Bergkamp).

Drogba is the best big game player modern day English football has seen. He wasn't as prolific as many of the lot, but when it came to matches that mattered, you wouldn't pick anyone ahead of him.
