Really?

Let Lukaku go so no striker.
Their best defender Rudiger has left.
Christensen's contract has expired so he's gone.
Kante another year older.
They've undergone board room changes and let one of the best transfer negotiators in Maria go.
They've let Petr Cech and Bruce Buck leave who both were instrumental to the successful running of the club.
On top of that, they don't have an oil tycoon in charge of the club. Instead, they have an American as part of a consortium who will have one eye on the balance sheet throughout his time there- something completely different to Roman who didn't care about profits.

On top of that, new guy charge has appointed himself transfer negotiator despite having no experience of soccer.

They were a well oiled machine but the new guy has come in and made sweeping changes. Don't get me wrong, they'll probs make a couple of big signings this summer cause he'll want to get the fans on board, but it's all coming across very messy and football manager like, and he'll eventually run them into the ground.

Let Lukaku go so no striker - Lukaku was utter shite, are you saying we are worse for losing Auba and now Lacca?
Their best defender Rudiger has left - very true, but if they buy a younger replacement are they weaker?
Christensen's contract has expired so he's gone - he averaged just 15 appearances a year, fairly easily replaced.
Kante another year older - so is every player at every club? that can be both good and bad.

The backroom staff are changing but that shouldn't matter much, Chelsea pay very well and should recruit the best.

The one question mark is whether the new owners will spend the 100-200m a summer Abro did - we will see come September.

As for profits, Chelsea have become one of the most profitable clubs in the EPL - winning CL and World Club trophies will do that for you. Yes Abro made it all possible now that 1.2 billion is written off they are very much able to stand alone.

Well they have no striker so yes.

A younger replacement will not replace one of the best CB's in Europe.

Christensen made 34 appearances last season and was one of their most consistent performers.

Kante is old and needs replacing. That's the point.

The hierarchy has been critical in their success. Maria is one of the best operators around, in the ilk of Michael Edwards so that's a huge loss. Cech and Buck are also big losses as both are deeply respected in the footballing world. Now they have a bunch of non-footballing business men at the top.

As for spending, no not come September- it will take 3-4 years to see that. As I said, they will probs spend big this summer to get fans in board but they can't spend big every summer because he's bought the club as part of a consortium so the aim and objective is very different to an oil tycoon owner.

Tuchel staying on is a vote of confidence for the new owner. Chances are that Boehly will listen to what Tuchel asks for in the transfer market instead of unilaterally making bone-headed decisions. £97m for Lukaku was madness, as was £80m for Havertz and £60m for Pulisic.

Still, they somehow made a bit of money back from Inter by giving them Lukaku. Edu should look into how that works sometime.

I see the chavs are paying Sterling £300k a week for 5 years…..mugs! Buying players who rely on their speed past their mid 20’s is a gamble.

Chelsea signing Sterling for £47.5m according to Ornstein. He has 1 year left on his deal.

I wonder if people will be giving them as much stick as they gave us for Jesus?

That Todd bloke in line to complete a hat trick of public humiliations ...

Raphinha / De Ligt / Dembele all binning them.

Edu v Todd battling for the worst transfer negotiator of 22/23 it seems.

Rangers fiddled their taxes and got basically obliterated from football and cast into the wilderness

Chelsea buy blood stained plastic trophies with stolen oil money for 20 years and..... Not a single point deducted

Chelsea will have five quality new players at least for next season - we will have the moral high ground because we only pay players 8m a year not 10m - so that's all good.
