Has Pochettino turned Spurs into another Stoke?

Postby GoonerAlexandre » Mon Dec 12, 2016 7:00 pm

Sneaky purposeful fouls by Dele Alli and a few others, Rose injuring quite a few players, players going in hard with no concern for other players, that game against Chelsea and numerous others, and of course diving like mad, has Pochettino, the hyped one, turned Spurs into Stoke 2.0? In fact, even his strategy against bigger teams is pretty much "Stoke" like

Poch on Pulis

""I want to highlight the job Tony Pulis has done at Stoke"

His views on big tackles
“For me, it’s not fair,” he said. “But they are the rules in football. If you break someone’s leg then it’s only three games. But if you touch someone then it’s six games.”

Even for you this is borderline retarded. They have a lesser budget than Arsenal ffs and nearly won the league last year.

Poch would stroll the league with the team you lot have.

they are an absolutely filthy team the current spurs side, all they are missing is keane in the middle could you imagine that? lol.

your missing the point stoke nor pulis will ever win the league, think they are two completely different styles tbh.
Tottenham can and do play several different ways opposition dependent is one point.

Oh ye and a tackle like Rose against Mikky should be a straight red, sick of seeing that shite, loads of teams take advantage of that
If it was a red tbf they would still do it on the big occasions.

Mate, I'm not arguing he's turning them into a midtable team, I'm arguing that it's the same shitty constant fouling style dressed up as "pressing". They have better players than Stoke and for some reasons, refs ignore a lot of their fouls

Peaked last season. Normal service resumes.

They get away with a heck of a lot more, Rose alone has already injured Bellerin and Mkhitaryan this season

Spurs are the dirtiest team in the league, there's no denying that. GA has a point when he says their 'pressing' is just tactical fouling all over the pitch.

With proper refereeing they'd get mauled in most big games

Barcelona do the exact same thing, nobody seems to care and the refs just send off the opposition, so that is not entirely true, and the pressing system is often used to just break up play with innocuous fouls agree with both of you.

Feckin' good job they're shit ... think what Poch would do against Arsene if they were any good .... they've played each other seven times in NLD's and we've won just twice .... it's Arsene's worst record against any Spuds manager ....
