16/17 League Cup

Postby Royal Gooner » Thu Jun 23, 2016 10:41 am

The draw for the next season's version of the now untitled League Cup has been drawn. Though we now have to note that the soulless rebranding of The Football League has affected this cup. It is now supposedly the EFL Cup (yuck).

Nothing too exciting besides a few London derbies, Bristol v Cardiff, and Villa having to go to Luton.

That's horrible! I'm not even English and it will always just be the League Cup to me.

Hope we drop out of this, the Fact cup and CL at the earliest possible time and make a proper push for the league this year.

Lol. Without Top signings, and with Wenger's inability to be technical enough to win games? Pass me whatever you are taking!

Huh? Too early and all, despite, the league looks gone. A five point swing isn't difficult because our "rivals" will drop points. Will we capitalize though? That's always been the problem.

We have a big enough squad for the League Cup. Our best shot are the cups again. FA Cup will prove to be difficult. Chelsea and United don't have CL football, so they won't take it as lightly as they would ideally.

Think we'll most likely field:

Ospina
Jenk/Deb - Chambers* - Holding - Gibbs
Elneny - Wilshere
Ox - Cazorla - Iwobi
Apkom

* New CB if we get one.
