Season ticket waiting list

Postby Doc Daneeka » Mon Feb 29, 2016 4:14 pm

Hello guys, I'm actually an Evertonian (though my wife and father-in-law are Arsenal fans if that will smooth the welcome).

Wanted to ask a question if that's OK with you guys. Given that we've just got this investment from your ex-part owner Farhad Moshiri there is increased talk about the possibility of us getting a new stadium and even more debate over what capacity it should be so really the question I have is this.

I know currently you have a huge season ticket waiting list, was this the case when you were still at Highbury? Given that Goodison and Highbury were roughly the same capacity some are suggesting we could go as hight as 70,000 and fill it (I disagree with this, my preference would be for 50,000 with scope for expansion). Fact is that we have no waiting list for season tickets at all plus no current/recent trophy winning pedigree at all.

So anyway, the main thing is "Did you have a waiting list at Highbury?" (I'm 99% sure the answer will be yes). Any other comments would be interesting though, what you think of Moshiri for example.

Yes we had a very significant waiting list before the move.

In addition to that we also have two tiers of general membership, red and silver. There is a 10 year/ indefinite waiting list even to become a silver member.

I feel we should have gone for 70000, but we have infrastructure issues which would have made planning permission for that number difficult.

My number has come up!

Just wanted some quick advice on my two options available. Both seats are upper tier, one in North Bank, one in East stand. Apparently you can put your name down to move to lower tier at the end of the season prior to renewals, but for the time being thats the options i have.

Never been in East stand before and its been ages since ive been in North Bank (think it was in the early days, much more at Highbury).

A few questions:

Whats the atmosphere like in upper stand / the new North Bank / East Stand
Has anyone had experience with moving from upper to lower (or vice versa) at the end of the season and did you get a seat that you wanted?

Would really appreciate some feedback on this as im probably going to pull the trigger today, but just wanted a full idea to make my mind up. Atmosphere is a massive part for me, as important as the view (id pick East on that alone, but if its dead out, ill stick to NB where the animals used to roam at Highbury as i remember it).

Apparently its gone nuts since Emery was announced and the allocations have nearly sold out in the last few days lol.

Mate it's a struggle to justify atm, but next year it'll be a lot easier for me so I may defer til next year.

Still, the thought of having a guaranteed seat for the NLD man u Chelsea Liverpool city etc. Under a new manager plus tickets to cup runs if we do well is too tempting.

Never been upper tier and personally I prefer to be closer to the action (ie top of lower tier).

I feel like it's too far away from the action though. Is it loud up there or do they sing?

Ive sat upper and lower all over the stadium

Upper pisses on lower in terms of view

You can also piss on them literally if you really need to go and the queue for the toilets are too long

Atmosphere wise, pretty much been the same wherever ive sat. Makes no difference.

Unless youre lower and in the middle of the stadium and can see both ends of the pitch then its upper all the way

Lower at one end of the pitch then good luck watching the action at the other
