Xavi was great in that system.

Vieira would be great in any system, I'd build my team around him before any other CM I've seen.

Depends on what youre looking for in a CM I guess. Goals, assist, end product basically then no

Sideways passing? GOAT for sure

Remember, people seem to forget this. Iniesta and Xavi were around a long time before Messi came in to the scene and neither were seen as GOAT or even world class.

Along comes Messi to finally add some end product to Barca and these 2 must be thanking their lucky stars as he single handedly won them trophy after trophy at club level and for Villa and Casillas at international level

Saying that, Xavi was very good in the 08 Euro Final v Germany and got a great assist. Shit in every game before that but cos he won the MOTM in the final, people made him out to be better than he was.

Likewise Iniesta, scored 2010 winner and done f all before or since then but seen as world class

Its embarrassing really. Most who rate them have hardly seen them. I watched La Liga season in and out for years before finally getting fed up with the corruption. If they left Barca, they'd be Arteta and Denilson

Says it all

That's why no top team touched Xavi when he left. That's why Iniesta who is finished at the highest level doesn't dare leave Barca cos only QPR and Birmingham might want him

I don't like Messi at all but hes actually world class. These 2 lol.

Ripped apart every debate there has been for them to be seen as world class and its one I stand undefeated at

So if Messi single handedly won trophy after trophy for Barca despite having 'average' midfielders in the team, surely he is the GOAT and not Ronaldo?

Pirlo Is at least debatable as he is an artist like xavi, paddy isn't an artist great player but we got destroyed with him in Europe, even cesc at 18 ran rings around him,

Same with Gerrard and Lampard two of my fave players but they weren't midfield artists and they chased shadows at int level.

I know paddy had some int success but lets be honest zidane carried that shit.

Because Wenger is the WOAT European manager.

Vieira was the 2nd best player at the '06 WC, his performances went unnoticed because Zidane was in vintage mode.

Also, saying you can't debate it because he wasn't an "artist " is asinine.

And now with Kroos
