Pep gets admiration because he spends big in order to create beautiful football that gets results against any opposition.

Mourinho gets criticism because he spends big and bus parks against the vast majority of teams in crunch matches.

Pep stays relatively humble throughout it all, mourinho criticises literally everyone but himself relentlessly including his own players, other players, managers, pundits, his owners etc.

Mourinho named himself the special one.
He attacked rafas wife, he's gouged someone's eye, he got a doctor the sack because she did her job. What a dick.

You lot focus on the finance side of it and yes they're just as bad as eachother in that respect but there are plenty of reasons why mourinho wilfully goes over the top of that and people don't like him.

In short, he's a massive d***head and takes pride in behaving like one.

To be fair, English media was taunting Pep by saying how the Prem would be complicated and it wouldn't be a cakewalk for him as La Liga (lel) or BuLi.

I'm convinced that Pep will win the CL with Man City. The monopoly of Real/Barca/Bayern in the CL is waning. Last two years, the referees have bailed Madrid in crunch games. I can't see that happening always. And when City do win the UCL, it will be the most dominant win by an English side since Liverpool won it back in their heyday, or since Liverpool in 17/18. :P

They were a bunch of bottlers, tbh. Did f**k all in the CL and never won the title back to back.

Not sure on this myth that Pep's spending doesn't get mentioned. His 150m on defenders has been talked about all season but it's not as hyped up because he's shut people up with such quality football that they're focused on that instead.

Mourinho spends the same ish and plays park the bus boring football that his own clubs fans are booing half the time so fans and the media focus on hos shit the football is and go...'eh 600m for that?'.

The only difference in the way they're perceived. If they were doing the reverse it would be Pep getting slagged more, like he was last season cos they won f**k all even if they did finish above United.

Both shit managers imo, Pep since Barca has been a chequebook manager/1 team league manager and Jose is just a massive c*** who was top dog in his prime but sure would also struggle without the massive funds he has. They rarely find gems like prime Wenger and Fergie, turning them into world class stars, they just outspend the rest.

Only reason I don't hate Pep is that his footballing ideology is almost perfect and so beautiful when it works.

Superb post that Mesut.

You only have to look at Arsene Nose' list to realise how well Pep spends his money (Nolito and Danilo aside)

Jesus, Sane and KDB were absolute bargains. Ederson too on this seasons form tbh.

Got goosebumps watching this. Truly revolutionary and we won't see anyone as good as him again.

What a genius.

This is football. This is Pep.

Why are you throwing out the cringy PR taglines tho?

This is an Arsenal forum and you're talking about "Their Title. Their City", "This is football. This is Pep".

Somehow I doubt the folks over on Redcafe were wanting over Wenger when we went unbeaten.

It is their title, is it not?

Huge, huge fan of Pep and what he's done in football and what he's currently doing in the Premier League.

I see the game the way Pep see's it. Sometimes you just have to take your Arsenal tinted glasses of and realise what an absolute joy he is to watch.

I'd do anything for him to be our manager.

Yes it is their title but you're on an Arsenal forum posting like you're Man City's verified Twitter.

Bare weird.

City this season will be no greater than the Invincibles in the history books tbh

Unrivaled in the league, but lost to an English team in the CL quarters.

They aren't greater at all.

The Invincibles were unbeatable, until another PL team matches that there is no debate to be had.

We're the greatest by default.

We are the standard by which all other teams will be judged.

The only knock on us is we drew too many games which is true, especially towards the end. Drew 3 of our last 5 ffs.

After the title was won, we just made sure we didn't lose hence drawn games.

Its a shame cos had we played as we were doing and won a few, we'd have the highest points total as well as undefeated but nonetheless our status as best winner is unrivalled

City doesn't even pass Leicesters ffs. Leicester did something majestic

This City title win is there with Man utds 97 win and Blackburns money led 95 win. Great for their fans but no one outside of them will remember it

The Invincibles remained unbeaten only in the EPL winning the title with 90 points, however they lost to Utd, M'boro, Inter, Dynamo and Chelsea that season ...

Man City 2018 will win the EPL with >90 points, they have lost to Liverpool, Utd, Wigan, Shaktar and Basel ... they have also won another trophy

So not such a big difference ....

In 2004 there was a top 4, this season a top 6 .... City beat them all ....

Nobody is likely to match the Invincibles with an unbeaten EPL season, but if City go on to win back to back titles they will prove themselves a better team ... indeed the Utd team of 07, 08, 09 are clearly more successful than the Invincibles were .... Forest with back to back European Cups in 79, 80 clearly a more successful team ...

The best 'one season wonders' without question (sorry Leicester but it's true) .... but not the best ever team, it takes more than one season to earn that moniker ....

The very next season after The Invincibles, Chelsea won the league with the highest ever points tally - they also won back to back titles.

By your logic they should be heralded as the greatest PL team ever, yet I don't hear people say they were a better team than The Invincible's.

United won the PL 3 successive times in '99, '00, and '01, then again in '07, '08 and '09.

Yet no one talks about any of those sides as being greater than The Invincibles.

Yes other teams have been more successful and had longer runs as a dynasty, but the single greatest season in PL history belongs to The Invincibles.

We also played the best football ever seen (club or country) which greatly enhances our legacy.

As I said, we are the gold standard by which all other great PL teams past and future will be measured by and compared to.
