I heard they are moving to 4-3-3 aswell so having 4 quality strikers to occupy one position is crazy.

In a 433 I'd be expecting 2 or 3 to be playing mate.

As I said last season, believe it or not we seemed to struggle with depth in positions at times. It may look a lot but we struggled having strikers fit after Christmas. We have the same amount as last year. Jov and Neg are great signings as they are completely the opposite player. I think Neg scored all his goals inside the box last season while Jov scored them (or most) outside.

Apparently the City owners have acquired Melbourne Heart (yes, our team names really are that lame). I assume this is another means for them to sponsor themselves. Know anything about it Yorky?

If Manone plays as well as he did tonight when its the Disney Vase final, I think City wont be scoring quite as many as they have been recently.

Really good keeper. I wish we'd kept him.

He's not better than Szczesny but is too good to be a back-up. A move was best for him.

They'll change it to Melbourne City and make sky blue their colours and then sponsor the MCG to be named after Etihad, though don't Sydney already have one of those?

They don't play at the G, that's waaaaay too big for them (100k capacity, Heart are lucky to break 10k). They play at AAMI Park or whatever it's called, and occasionally at Etihad Stadium (yes, there's one in Melbourne, and it was called that first!) Sky blue could be problematic considering their city rivals play in dark blue.

It's been going on for some time now to sort this deal.

I bet it didn't cost much to do and it will be more about pushing the name 'Manchester City' around in Australia. Our owners are about 7 steps ahead of everyone else. We're lucky.

Apparently the name "Melbourne City Football Club" has been registered since the deal. Looks like they might be a baby MCFC.

10-12 million AUD, so it's negligible for your owners. You paid more for Scott Sinclair.
Not sure your owners quite get how entrenched AFL is here (especially in Melbourne) but if they can help football become the largest sport here I'm all for it.

ye i was thinking this morning, id say there going to pump the money in and you know what that means. big players.

I can see the aussie league potentially becoming a major force, it has everything, once the sport becomes more popular the foundations are in place.
