They're pretending like they don't have the money. All this net spend mantra, at least own the wealth and spending capacity you have. Since Pep has arrived, they've been donning faux-humility.

I reckon City dodged a bullet - 36 year old Ronaldo playing highly competitive games twice a week - don't believe it. Luxury player more useful for the social media and share price than on the pitch ... could be wrong and he might win them the EPL and the Golden Boot, but I just can't see it.
Champions League is only interesting in the latter stages. I don't blame the City fans for not going. They were always going to prioritise PL games until CL Quarters/Semi/Final

You can see some exciting Sunday League games too. The bottom line is that fans haven't got bottomless pockets of cash and have to priorities the games they want to pay to watch. A PL game on a weekend will always be more of a draw than a midweek CL group stage game.
