Wow

Degrading one of the best nights I've had as an Arsenal fan is a banning offence surely?

Fair enough. So you mean Wenger has no European trophies. Still think wob would play down a uefa cup win.

Europa league win is massive and prestigious. Call me out if i ever sniggered at Europa league trophy. Rather than getting our ass handed to us in the round of 16 in the CL, i would love to give Europa league a fair crack of the whip

Yeah, since we're comparing Wenger to Klopp/Simeone there, Wenger's the one I'm talking about. If he won an EL, it'll be his first and our first in his long long reign, so definitely would count, imo.

WOB's were quiet after that first FA cup. If we were in the final of EL, they would be quiet too.

I agree, I just think some people would play it down.

Some would play down the treble if Wenger won it, but he hasn't, and won't. Majority of WOB's are sane people like you and I. If Wenger had even had fleeting success, like one league in all those years, or had gone on in the EL or something, people would be with him. Game has passed him by now sadly

I'd love to win the EL.

Doesn't change the fact that winning it should never be considered anything other than a consolation prize. We were sold dreams of competing with the best in Europe. I'm not going to accept a stepping stone trophy as anything other making the best of the situation you find yourselves in.

Liverpool looking to cement themselves as top dogs of England. Thiago & Jota > Partey & Willian (probably cheaper wages considered too)

In:

Thiago - Done (£20m)
Jota - £35m agreed

Out:

Lovren - Sold £11m
Ki-Jana Hoever - £10m sale agreed
Ovie Ejaria - Sold £4m

Whoever their transfer team is we need to sign them ASAP

Thiago was never a realistic signing; Jota isn't a player we need right now.

What we can learn from Liverpool is how to effectively sell players. We're getting better at it—Iwobi, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Martinez etc—but we've still a long way to go.

If we had our act together approached and approached him right at the start of the transfer window then i feel we defo had a chance

I just don't buy it. I'm sure Thiago was aware of Liverpool's interest for months, and I still see no reason why a world class player would leave the European Champions to come play for the 8th best side in England playing Europa League football next year. None of it really adds up.

Certainly isn't a player we missed out on in a realistic scenario.
