Kieran Gibbs - played 50 games in the last two years, he's 27 has 10 years experience in the EPL, and still has a full contract in him .... sold for just 7m

Kevin Wimmer - played 31 games in the last two years, he's 24 with just two seasons in the EPL ... sold for 18m

are we some sort of charity give away? ..... no wonder Spuds make a transfer profit and we don't .....

Wimmer was probably on 10k pw. Gibbs is probably 70k odd.

Lower the asking price allows the buying club to use more of their total budget on paying Gibbs what he wants.

It's the cost of having big wages and it doesn't really matter as we have loads to cover it. Better he goes and lives his life than doesn't kick a ball again for ages.

Yeah, the issue is his wages are high, he's only got a year left on his contract and it's clear we don't want him. £7m is fine and is better than him going out on loan or just rotting in the reserves, a la Debuchy.

Same goes for Welbeck. Next to "careful what you wish for", the thing I just can't hear anymore, referring to Welbeck is: "Sure, his finishing is poor but he brings soooo much to the team". NO, he does not. And it's about time we let go of sub par quality players like Gibbs and Welbeck. Ox is on his way out and next should be Ramsey. Time to rebuild this squad. But we need a new project lead though.

His cross is better than Bellerin's or Ox's. His pass is not bad either.

Spurs transfer income last five years - 383m

Arsenal transfer income last five years - 118.6m

and yet they finished above us ????

People keep making lame excuses - contract length, salary, not wanted, etc - but in business terms it's just assets playing the same game, under the same rules, at the same level ...

So why in five years are we 265m worse off than them? it's not like they've sold all their best players and we haven't .... whatever excuses you use the bottom line has to be - SHITE MANAGEMENT - for which at Arsenal it seems you get a new contract and a pay-rise, go figure ....

A typical Gibbs cross is a slow lob "somewhere in the box". Ox is superior to him and Bellerin (imo) but they're all average players. Can't believe how bad Bellerin has become. He's been "Wengerized"

Gibbs was only a big risk in CL games. He is more than good enough against LC/FA cup fodder and bottom 8 PL teams.

Selling him for a pittance when we are already thin in defenders is madness.

if we're sticking with wingbacks he has to go, he's awful on the ball under pressure and that's what this formation highlights, the wingbacks get closed down quickly.

He needs to go because we need hungry players, any player that has been happy like him to sit on the bench for years is suspect.

He's gone to West Brom now.

At least we'll always have this to remember him by.

All the best Kieran. Think he'll have a decent time at Brom.

He probably considers the move an upgrade the way things are at Arsenal currently.

If I were him I would say to myself, "This is my next step to continue to grow as a player. I have done everything at Arsenal and now to test myself further at a cohesive club like WBA. I was bound to move eventually. That's what feeder clubs do. They sell."
