I don't think 25m for Wood weakens Burnley though, they can improve the squad way more with that money.

Newcastle wasting money but love to see it.

They have the money to waste though. They are desperate to stay in the PL. 25 mil is nothing to them now.

Of course they do but throwing excess money at a rival, over a players worth, isn't really weakening them imo.

Obv depends how Burnley reinvest and may take them time (by which they could be down) but longer term it benefits only Burnley.

Yes and no 25M doesn’t get you much these days for a CF, they could either risk it and buy some kid like Nketiah or go for a top goal scorer from a lower quality league like, no guarantee either will work out or adapt in time to save them from relegation

At least with Chris wood they knew what they were getting, someone that will most likely keep them up if not help with the push for promotion the season after

Don't get the move for him though, pissed off at Everton yet goes to a similar level club at Villa?

Shame we have two decent lb's cos I'd rather have Digne tbh.

He's a quality player. But will clubs trust his health?

People have recovered from serious cardiac arrest and gone on to run marathons.

But yeah, if it was me I'd pack it in.

Will Liverpool sign another winger or finally move for a striker ?

Salah
Diaz
Jota
Carvalho

That's a pretty strong line-up as it stands.

Hopefully they don't ask for Gnabry from Bayern and we can pinch him.

Spurs sign Perisic. Might be too old to keep up with PL pace, but we'll see. Jose was desperate to sign him for Utd a few years ago.

The 33-year-old had a medical with the Premier League club on Monday and will join on a free transfer on 1 July when his contract with Inter expires.

Perisic worked with Antonio Conte when the Spurs boss led Inter to the 2020-21 Serie A title.

He said: "It is a privilege to work with a coach like this. I am really happy to see him again."

"I was watching the last two of three games and, after the victory against Arsenal, it was obvious Tottenham would be in the Champions League - and it was also good for me because I want to play in the best games.

Klopp and Pep are always ahead of the game, and interestingly they're both going for CFs now (Haaland and possibly Nunez)... should we be concerned that Arteta is missing something here?

Love the interchanging and mobility of the false 9, but personally I'm a little concerned at the lack of recognised CFs, even as a plan B.

I said in another thread a while back that if I was Arteta I’d change my strategy wrt the CF position for this exact reason.

As far as I know, there are no recognized CFs that we can attract that is worth having as a Plan A. Plan B, sure. But if we try to shoehorn a player into the first eleven just because that player is a CF in form and not substance then we’re asking for trouble next season.
