Who have been the greats of European football in the last 15 years?
- Ronaldo (Brazil)
- Ronaldinho
- Zidane
- Pirlo
- Luis Figo
- Messi
- Cristiano Ronaldo
- Thierry Henry
- others...

Most of these guys never even played in the PL at any point.

PL has an enormous cultural advantage in that all the press, the commentary, all the coverage, everything about it takes place in the English language, which is understood (if not spoken) by most middle-class people in the world. There is simply a perception that EPL is "important" "prestigious" etc. because the English-language press simply give it more coverage than every other league bar the CL.

Not to mention that the Premier League used forceful marketing to make a derby out of every single fuckin game so they could get more money for TV contracts.
At the user end, the user thinks he gets a derby every weekend, while in reality there aren't that much derbys in the first place.

The premier league will eventually eat itself in time.

and English teams are the oldest most historic teams in the world. Most Segunda teams are tiny, some are even village clubs who get not more than 2,000 every week. The Championship gets higher attendances than La Liga.

Teams like Leeds, Nottingham Forest.

Makes it worse the quality in england is so bad!

Corrected for u

re-corrected

Modric is center mid, not attacking mid.

Fabregas and Scholes had superior ability on the ball to Vieira, doesn't make them better. Vieira had the warrior mentality, leadership, defensive ability, stature and technical skill - the best CM I've seen.

and didn't spend shitloads of money and time worrying about his hair!

Neuer
Lahm T. Silva Boateng Alaba
Busquets Modric
Robben Messi Ronaldo
Suarez

So at least one BPL player gets a place, although an ex-player. Matic instead of Busquets is also a possibility, but maybe not yet.

lol @ the guy suggesting Cazorla, Ramsey or Eriksen

Best players outside the top two in La Liga & Bayern:

De Gea
Ivanovic - Terry - Thiago Silva - Rodriguez
Matic - Pogba
Alexis - De Bruyne/Özil - Hazard
Agüero

Not bad really considering the 3 mentioned can buy whoever they want to

Premiership is on an extremely strong footing as far as commercial and marketing aspects are concerned. No league can challenge the might of the premiership when it comes to the tv rights and commercial dealings. The Gulf in quality between the top teams and the chasing pack is not as marked as it is in the other leagues. So the games are definitely more tightly contested.

However if you are talking from pure footballing perspective, not necessarily the individual players then the premiership does not produce the quality of football in comparison with its peers. The lack of cohesion and footballing acumen amongst the top English teams becomes glaringly evident the moment they are up against a half decent European opposition. Athletically and powerwise the other leagues have caught up with the English clubs while on the other hand skillset wise and game management wise the English clubs have dropped further of the European opponents.

Not even in the top 3 for attendances in that division. Leeds crowds have nearly halved since they were good. For some reason people seem to think they still get 40k a week or something (not aimed at you).
