Couldn't even get the bulk of the £8m up front. Let's see if we're able to raise £30m in sales this season.

Couldn't care less what we sold him for. Can't have your back up keeper being paid big money. Could make room for a decent signing.

Edu has to go

As for Leno, quality keeper for us. Best Emirates keeper and did well. Good luck to him

Leno let in 66 goals in 60 games at the emirates a goal every 82 mins
Ramsdale has let in 17 in 19 a goal every 101 mins
A goal every 100 mins is what we conceded under graham which is considered our highest defensive watermark

The great John Lukic doesn’t get the respect and love he deserves from gooners. I wouldn’t go so far as to say he’s forgotten, but he’s not mentioned as much as Seaman, or Jennings, or Wilson and he absolutely should be. He used to play, near as damn it, every single match as well.

Yes, his salary will prevent signings more than the fee we get.

100% agree great stopper, he would struggle in todays game with the tippy tappy control needed. But in his time he was exceptional most keepers would have sent that ball route1 in the last seconds not lukic

How bad is Runarrsson that we're pinning our Europa League hopes on this old Yank?

There’s no guarantee he’ll ever play.

Ramsdale is young and fit, he might play every match

In answer to your questions……Runnarsson cost £1M. Turns out he’s about as good as a £1M keeper. Leno was never going to stay as number 2, we made that choice when Ramsdale was promoted. It’s still the right choice

Turner? No idea. We’ll find out soon enough

They always play the number 2 keeper in cup games and Europa League. Then we'll see how the yank really is but I do think we really should have kept Leno as the performance in Nuremburg didn't fill me with confidence.

How so? It's all money and what we raise from player sale can be put back into a new player purchase.

It's about total salaries. If we have planned for x amount on top pay, another few on the next level down etc.

He was one of the top earners but sat on the bench. I'm assuming transfer money (both in and out) and ongoing wages come from different pots. He's taking up a 'top pay player' place.

I understand getting him off the wage bill and we're in a fortunate position where we don't have to sell before we can buy. But how long will that last for? That's what you have to take into consideration. One day KSE may just say we have to raise funds to buy players. Who knows what the situation will be come January.

We said the same thing in Jan when we let 6 players go.

And were able to sign Jesus, Zinchenko, Vieira and Marquinhos early on in the summer because of it.

The time to have made any of these buys was January, the inaction cost us another year outside CL.

If Top 4 is the goal, we remain behind the curve. As others have said, one injury to Jesus sends us right back to January attack-wise. We need more depth in attack, and we seemingly aren't going to replace Lacazette and Pepe. The latter is still here, but clearly isn't going to feature much.
