That's a funny conclusion to make considering he was never more lethal in his career than last season.

16 goals and 7 assists in less than 20 games worth of game time is a fantastic return.

Those who don't struggle with reading comprehension are able to deduce Giroud is referring to his lack of minutes.

The difference being that Drogba actually had competition for the CF role in Shevchenko, Anelka, Torres and others and still scored consistently amidst Chelsea's revolving door of managers. Giroud had Welbeck to compete with for a half season in 2014.

Drogba could also score in big games; 2012 CL final comes to mind, but there have been lots of other times as well. On that metric, Giroud's biggest moment is a stoppage-time goal against Villa in the 2015 FA Cup when we were 3-0 up.

Drogba was an epitome of a big-game player. How many finals did he score in? 9? Man was insane.

Drogba scored 20pl+ goals twice, giroud hasn't achieved that once, not sure what Sims was trying to get at there.

I like Giroud but he isn't on Drogba's level.

Though Chelsea are on my personal top three most hated teams (Spurs, Chelsea and Man U), I wish him well personally.

Telling Chelsea would rather play with no striker than Giroud

Makes sense tactically. Chelsea were always going to be deep and look to hit Barca on the counter with pace. Giroud has a lot of virtues but playing that style isn't one of them.

Yeah, he wasn't out-and-out goal scorer like Henry but he certainly performed when it mattered.

Giroud wasn't as bad as we all made out i think with hindsight most rational people realise that, he deserves a huge amount of respect, to be playing in french league 2 at 23 to end up scoring 100+goals for arsenal is phenomenal, he got the most out of his ability.

Giroud was a decent player, the fact he has a similar record to drogba shouldn't be used to turn giroud into something he isn't or to downplay drogba, for whatever reasons it seems drogba did have some up and downs at cheslea but if anything the fact he achieved what he did at chelsea whilst everything wasn't always plain sailing shows the character of the man.

There is literally no comparison between Drogba and Giroud. One has 4PLs, 1 CL and a handful and FA and LCs.

The other is Giroud, who scored once in a cup final but otherwise owes his trophies to Ramsey and Sanchez.

He provided the assist in the two Ramsey winners.......

I can see him regretting this move come the summer.

Conte seems keen to keep Hazard as the false 9 with Morata as back up.

The only way I can see Giroud getting game time is if Conte switches back to 3-5-2 and alternates Morata and Giroud but with the form of Willian it's hard to see that change happening.
