Back to his best yesterday.

After a recent blip of scoring goals, he was back to his usual self.

0 Shots on target. Some would call it a World Cup winning performance.

To think some didn't want to sell Giroud to fund the Auba transfer.

I told people for 5 years we can do better than Giroud, I'll admit he was usually good for 1 goal, but he was never going to be the super star goal machine like a Henry, RVP or Auba.

Giroud went 10-15 games once without a goal and people still backed him.

Chelsea had Giroud, we had Auba .............. who won the game, simple as that.

Hasn't Lacazette done similar ?

We made the right decision offloading Giroud to bring in Auba but the issue was never Giroud. He's a great back-up striker. As is Lacazette. The problem was that he was our lead striker.

The main issue we had with Giroud was our over-reliance on him. When he was fatigued and out of form he stayed in the team.

Laca got benched, while Giroud never did. That's why he and by extension Wenger, get so much flak, despite their contributions.

Exactly!!

Which is what I despised about the whole situation.

My god, the pain when Oli would get a through ball from midfield and he was outside the box with no one in front of him, clear on goal, one on one with the keeper, by the time he got to the box to shoot both their whole team and even our team was all in front of him.

Bloody painful to watch.

We also started playing like a classy Stoke FC, pass, pass, pass then straight to the corner for a cross to Oli and repeat, because that was his only way of scoring.

So boring to watch, didn't improve until Sanhcez turned up to show us what football should look like again.

If there's was ever proof needed that there is far too much international football played these days, this is it.

Tbf those figures are impressive ............ considering he scored nil pois in the last WC for the ENTIRE competition all the way to the final, not 1 fkin goal.

The fact he's still racked up those numbers is somewhat of a mystery.

Congrats to big G.

Can't wait till he breaks Henry's record so we can re-litigate his Arsenal career using his performances for an entirely different team.
