There should be no discussions about extending Welshit's deal. Seriously, let's move on from the injury-prone Wenger Era.

Arsenal are considering offering Danny Welbeck, 28, a new deal. The England striker, out since November through injury, is weeks from the end of his current deal and West Ham, Newcastle and Everton are all watching developments closely. (Mirror)

Like the lad and feel sorry for his problems ... but that doesn't mean they should remain Arsenal's problems

Last five years he's played 88 game with 16 goals .... previous five years 126 games with 28 goals, so he's not getting any better is he ....

By comparison to a player down the road - Last five years played 148 games with 48 goals .... previous five years 122 games with 29 goals, clearly improving ....

Why would we renew? Do we never learn? It's a risk no decent business would take, let alone a billion dollar football club ... this has to be idle gossip by the media, but with our history you just never know ....

Well, I can see why we would. I'd rather we signed Giroud back on a 2-year deal.

With Ozil most likely leaving, Ramsey leaving, Mkhi leaving, we'd have freed £670k a week in wages. I think we'd offer him a 2-year deal on £80k a week.

If he's still injured, I wouldn't mind offering him a year's deal for sentimental reasons. Yeah, yeah.

But if he's fit by the end of the season, I don't see why we'd extend his contract. Just use Nketiah, and if Nketiah isn't ready, loan him out and get Giroud on a free transfer.

We've missed Welbeck.
Say what you want about his scoring record, but no one works as hard as he does to close space and win the ball back on the flanks.
I am not his biggest fan, but you can't knock the work rate and contribution to the team.
Hope he comes back and gets another 2-3 years injury free.

Better to let him go and invest in youth.

We've actually missed him. Is there any chance he could stay fit next season and stay on a pay as you play contract?

Press are just keeping the pipeline of transfer bullshit in rotation. No news about this anywhere else.

The club needs money and Welbeck is a walking hospital bill. I still prefer him to Iwobi but this is not like a Sagna situation where the only issue with a contract renewal was the wages.

Thanks for your service Danny and hope to see you in another PL team's colours next season.

We need a back up for Laca in #9 position. Auba can't lead the line and needs to be a wing-forward or second striker. Who can we get who is better than Danny and happy to sit on the bench? Then again who isn't better than a player that is always injured and unavailable. I can understand why the club would consider offering him a new contract, but we have made that mistake before.

Nketiah is better for the simple fact that he can stay fit

Time for Welbz to go

Welbeck is an inspiration.

Forged a career in the PL at two of the biggest clubs all while being played as a defensive winger or a striker who doesn't score.
