Arsenal raid West Ham to sign England Under-16 midfielder Ben Sheaf
Wednesday 2 Jul 2014 5:50 pm

Arsenal have added to their crop of wonderkids by signing England youth international Ben Sheaf from West Ham.

The 16-year-old, who was rated as a big star for the future at Upton Park, had moved to the Emirates Stadium after turning down a new contract with the Hammers.

West Ham will no doubt be disappointed with the news, as Sheaf is regarded as one of the best young midfielders in the country.

He made his debut for England’s Under-16 team last season and is being tipped to feature more for the Three Lions in the future.

Sheaf already has good sporting pedigree, with his mother and brothers both playing volleyball for Team GB at an Olympic level.

Arsenal are expected to be paying a small amount of compensation for the Kent-born youngster.

Looks like our youth overhaul is in full effect.

Joined Doncaster Rovers on a 6-month loan.

Even though he was a midfielder when we first signed him, he has since made the transformation to CB, so it remains to be seen in which role/position he will be used by Doncaster.

Coverty Telegraph

The Sky Blues are said to be closing in on a move to sign Arsenal youngster Ben Sheaf with national media reports claiming that a six-figure bid has been submitted.

Given the situation we find ourselves in, hopefully Coventry's bid is closer to £999,999 than it is to £100,000.

Even better would be if we could agree to a fee in excess of £1m. Not sure how likely that scenario is, though.

Joined Coventry on loan.

Strange. Has no future with the club - expected a sale

Although reports that deal includes £750k option to buy
