Pretty much did that last year.

I agree him going to Spain is a waste of time though, he already has the technical quality and needs to get to grips with the physicality over here imo.

Clearly doesn't have a future here under wenger still no first team debut at 21, IIRC the likes of Szczesny, Jenkinson, Chambers, Wilshere, Akpom, Gnabry, OX etc all had debuts before that age.

Even the flops who've moved on like Denilson, Merida, Bendtner etc.

Anyway my point is Wenger clearly doesn't rate him otherwise we would have kept him in the side and not purchased Xhaka who is basically the better proven version of toral.

I think Toral is an AM.

Disappointing development. There is a good player here...

This loan basically means that Toral is going to stay in La Liga, after the loan finishes, and that his Arsenal career is over, otherwise he would have stayed!

As an AM, he's nowhere near technically gifted enough to be holding down that position for us.

I've liked what I've seen, but he's more of a goal scoring AM than a #10 playmaker, more like a Lampard than a Fabregas.

I'm sure he's more versatile and could be used elsewhere, but we're stacked in those positions with youngsters that are more known for their technical ability.

Yep his contract ends next summer and he hasn't renewed before going on loan.

Good luck to him. I'd love for him to have a great spell in La Liga and come back to compete for a place.

Looks a good prospect, had probably the most productive loan period away from Arsenal since Cashley maybe ?
Most of our players seem to crash & burn but this kid was mighty impressive.
Makes you wonder if he hadn't had all those injury problems whether he'd have been pushing for the 1st team already.

Wilshere had a great spell at Bolton.

Bellerin at Watford was our last good loan spell which worked out well for us and Coquelin at Charlton.

Wouldn't be pushing for the first team at all.
