I think he realises he's one of the best goalkeepers in the world and his peers, of the highest level, know it too.
I am sure his Argentina teammates are also delighted for Messi and know that Emi is a major reason they won the Copa America.
Arsenal fans know we sold the best keeper we have had in years.

The debate on whether we sold our best keeper is over.
We did.

For Argentina it used to be, now Emi has stepped up into superstardom too.
I think that was what Messi was acknowledging.

Also to add to this it probably won’t be long before a bigger club come in for him and pay Villa top dollar, leaving us looking like idiots again.

Villa knew. No wonder they came for ESR as seriously as they did. If ESR hasn't signed by the end of the window, they'll come for him again in Jan.

Emi showed true mamba mentality in those Copa penalty shootouts. Talking trash to throw penalty takers off takes intelligence and balls to pull off successfully.

We should re-sign him. I waa wrong saying we were right to sell him. Offer them 20-30m. We might make a big loss but I'm struggling to think of someone better we could sign. I bet he'd love to come back!

He would be welcomed back with open arms.

Rather him than Ramsdale

Just needs to cut out the mistakes we saw for villa after Xmas. Before it he was the goat keeper of the season

You really think Villa would be dumb enough to let us have him back that cheap?

Name a better goalkeeper you can buy for 30m than Martinez?

It doesn't look like Villa need the money. They have been spending massively since they returned to the PL. It's late in the window and there are indications that Grealish will stay. If that happens, I would think that they have a good chance of finishing above us this year.

Unfortunately, he is worth a lot more than that now.
