Why not this season?

Why couldn't they sort this out before the end of season relegation places were decided?

Charlton must be absolutely fuming with this. They've played by the rules and got relegated. Wednesday have cheated and stay up.

They added a rule when Leeds and Boston tried to cheat the system by going into admin when already down (88th minute of the final game of the season in Boston's case). The rule now is that you only get the deduction if it makes a difference to you in promotion/relegation. In this case they would stay up even with the point deduction (on goal difference) so would be no punishment. They get it next season so they still get the punishment.

Still chance for some others in that division as well (Derby, Boro, Brum). I think they've been selling their stadiums for about 200million then buying them back for market value of about 40million. Something along those lines anyway.

If they deducted the 12 points this season they'd be bottom of the division and relegated.

f**k knows what I was looking at earlier when it happened. Sure they were 12 clear but obviously not. Yeah they should be gone now then.

Wigan aren’t a former show piece or a big club though. EFL probably trying to protect a historic club.

Just how the world works, they’ve got some differences between the breaches which helps them cover it up.

I think Tim Ream still plays for Fullham. He's from my area. I know his sister-in-law. Hope he makes it back to the Prem.

Shocking game, both teams are clueless, but at least Brentford showing some ambition.

Very cagey game with neither side wanting to commit too many players forward.

I can't see that changing in extra time.

Can Mitrovic change the game? He's been very good this season.

If he can't, penalties beckon.
