That's the official line - they're not going to tell us the real reason.

Son thing happened a while back, could have replaced him then

More likely to be over signings or something

Sack a manager over signings? Seriously?

He's been sacked before - the Thai owners are brothers and one sacked him, only for him to be reinstated by the other. They clearly do not rate him highly so the racism scandal was probably the last straw.

True, but if they wanted to sack him, they had about a month after that to do so

Instead they sacked him just before pre-season after letting him bring signings in too

That's what happened last time - both brothers had to agree before he was sacked. One announced it, the other un-announced it as it had to be a joint decision. Who knows what prolonged deliberations were needed before they jointly agreed to sack him this time?

Anyway the real reason will come out soon, but I reckon it's either the son or his bizarre conduct during the season, or both.

Ps: his son was sacked less than a fortnight ago, so it's fairly recent.

i'm sure it's over issues around signings, he did a great job from january, his son being a prat wouldn't make them sack him. not sure what beef you have against him tbh.

Did you miss him being unnecessarily rude to a journalist during a presser? Or putting his hands on a player's throat after said player accidentally bumped into him, resulting in a 10 grand fine by the FA? Or telling a fan to "f**k off and die?" Or annoying one of the owners enough that he was sacked mid-season and only reinstated by the other owner?

Unnecessarily rude to a journalist during a presser?

That was nothing really, a LOT of managers have had worse moments.

Hell, Wenger's been unnecessarily rude to a journalist in those lean years, was it pre-match at Bayern where he was completely fuming?

He did his job. There's no way you sack a manager for calling someone an ostrich

Results wise they had nothing on him to sack him. Probably down to a disagreement on transfer budget and stuff.

Boring season overall, most entertaining part was Newcastle nearly getting relegated.
