From what I remember of 13/14 was we lost the title because of arteta being so horrific

Pretty much. Ramsey and flamini was our best cm pairing. Arteta coming back killed us

Must be thanking his lucky stars xhaka exists. He should go to mother xhaka and father xhaka and be in their debt for the rest of his life for creating such an abomination that has more or less taken his place as the worst first team player in Arsenal history

Must have took a lot of hypnosis to forget gus caesar doing the Hokey Cokey in the 88 league cup final v Luton

The reason why he made Rambo look so good

Except he was just as good with Flamini.

13/14 was all Ramsey, best player in the league apart from GOAT mode Suarez.

Would've won the league had he stayed fit, instead he got injured and Wenger bought Kallstrom.

Kallstrom never made since. Wenger signed an injured loanee. Probably should have taken it as an early sign of dementia.

After Wenger's departure, I thought we could hope for a departure from complacency and laxity which has been the bug bear of the Wenger era especially in the last decade but if Arteta come in it will be a case of same old, same old. Arsenal is still a coveted job and what do we do, looking to hire a guy who not so long ago was one of our problems, not solutions. He was the captain, what leadership qualities did he bring in?

Our club reeks of mediocrity with no room for meritocracy. Really and trully gutted that we are looking for a spineless person like Arteta who never showed that grit, determination and killer instinct when he lead the club. Really sorry state of affairs and clearly looks like the club has accepted that they are happy to operate around the fringes of Europa league spots and not try and regain their mojo.

Tbf, why are people saying Arteta didn't show fight when he was here? He was certainly one of the main ones striving to be better and doing all he could to win.

Never hid he just got shit in his older age.

I am f***ing pissed. These clowns are f***ing c****.

Only thing left is if this yts c*** is actually the managerial prodigy the media are trying to make out.

If not, it really shows where we are heading as a club.

50m to spend and a guy who has been an assistant to the assistant manager at city for 2 years.

f**k off.

Agree. At the end of the day no matter how disappointed I might be I'm still willing to give the guy a chance as manager once we hire him. I think it would be stupid for us not to get behind him come the start of next season and at the end of the day the board might just be taking a risk that pays off and Arteta really is the next SAF.

It's a hell of a lot better than having nothing but Wenger to look forward to

Spot on.

This decision clearly reeks how now the club is all about making ends meet and hovering around the leftover scraps of the top 4. Why do we need to take a stupid gamble?
