We'll always disagree on this but it's very, very unfair to blame Alexis for what happened. If Wenger hadn't lost the plot, we'd be sitting here with a league title at the very least and Alexis would have no qualms signing that extension.

I still remember the summer of 2015. It felt like something would happen after back-to-back FA Cups. And..

all u needed to see whether he was on the spectrum or not is the last year he spent with us

he has no friends apart from his dogs, he even eats dinner alone on international duty whom of which hes been a setup for what a decade? his strops on the pitch and off it when he got subbed are all that of someone who has no social awareness

also that story of him and the rabbit is a bit weird too

Yes I've noticed you band it about as an insult regularly

I met an autistic guy once who was a spurs fan. Total c***

Alexis wasn't about improving utd and signing a top player, it was about showing that they could bully us in the transfer market and derailing our season. It worked.

They also offloaded an expensive and ageing flop in mkhi and will likely make a profit when they sell alexis.

Don't agree I still think on balance we got a decent deal in the circumstances.

However we should have sold him summer 2017. It was pretty clear his heart wasn't in it. His fault not ours but whatever, he wasn't worth a penny to us once he decided he didn't fancy it.

In hindsight we def should have sold but let's not forget he had 48 goals+assists in 51 games the season before so you can see why we kept him.

Maybe if Emery had of come a season earlier things would have turned out different for him but we wouldn't have Pea with Sanchez wages so it worked out well for us.

If Wenger had actually sold him in that summer, someone would've set the french geezer on fire.

I wanted him to but it wasn't an option, not without a worldie replacement. I think the consensus was to utilise him for 1 more year and hopefully do well enough that he'd stay or we'd sign someone quality, unfortunately, with hindsight we didn't get much out of him and didn't get where we needed to get in the PL, so would've been better to sell.

Easy to say it all now, even when I hated Sanchez in that summer I wasn't 100% set either way. Only hope was Wenger fingering Mbappe's bum and convincing him to sign for us.

Alexis is 31 years old and on 475k per week with a 4 year deal.

Who are they going to sell him to? No one. Financially, it was one of the worst deals of the modern era. It would have been good for a year (if he had actually played well lol) or 2 but he didn't sign for a year or 2. Plus, his purchase f***ked martial, the player they should actually have been showing confidence in.

Meanwhile, we've got an affordable mkhi who is still class but can actually be sold on for profit and replaced when needed.

Forgetting past pedigree which doesn't even matter, we defo got the better deal on a whole as they've f***ked themselves.

The only good that came out of the deal for us is Wenger getting the boot.
