Arsenal plot Alexis Sanchez transfer from Barcelona to help solve striker problems
Wenger has been tipped off the Chile international will be sold this summer and is set for a £20million tug-of-war with Juventus
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is on alert for Barcelona striker Alexis Sanchez – but faces a mighty fight with Juventus, writes Alan Nixon in the Sunday People.
Wenger has been tipped off that the red-hot Chilean forward will leave Barca this summer and a £20million auction has begun.
The Gunners would love Sanchez, who fits neatly into their style and also comes within their budget for a major summer signing.
Sanchez, 25, is interested in a move – with the Premier League an option – and he knows his days at the Nou Camp are numbered.
The former Udinese star has been with Barca for three seasons but has not nailed down a starting role.
Now the Gunners are on standby, while Juve have already made contact.
After three successive Serie A titles, the Italians have plenty of pulling power and two of Sanchez’s fellow countrymen in their ranks.

If he can recapture that form, I'd love him here on the wing. He's not a striker though
