The best deal we could've made was accept City's £60m bid 6 months earlier.

No Mkhi on our books and £60m which could directly have gone to Alexis' replacement.

I think fans were sick of seeing our top players sold to City

I certainly was.

Sanchez would have been a bench player at City. Even after his incredible final season for us, he wouldn't have displaced Sane or Sterling, and wasn't a CF at all so wouldn't be competing with Aguero for a spot. They basically went out and bought Mahrez for the same price to play the exact same role.

£60m for a player with one year left on his contract would have been incredible business, although Wenger was weirdly set on Thomas Lemar as a replacement, easily one of the least important Monaco players in their title-winning 2016/17 squad.

arguably the worst swap deal of all time

Mkhitaryan moving to us and Sanchez moving to Man Utd in a swap deal was the biggest fraud-for-fraud deal since human existence 5009,000 or so years ago. In f***ing tears :crybaby: :crybaby:

Both clubs scammed each other :rofll:

Their agents probably get together on the date of that deal every year and have a glass of whiskey to celebrate the raping of our clubs.

Lol we scammed them more. Sanchez is the highest paid player in league who is not even playing. At least Mkhi had acceptable time here even though it wasnt for too long. Sanchez is Big Weng's revenge for RVP.

I'll be tickled if he regains his form... he was massive for AFC for a few years...always liked this player.
