Probably was more important for us too.

True, but unfortunately for us and lesser teams, it takes money to win. Not just wishing or hoping or saying the right things, like literal actual money.

Attitude does matter and words do matter

Just for once I'd love a manager and a captain who would publicly say that a defeat is unacceptable, that a poor performance is an embarrassment, and that three points is a good days work.

We've not had that properly since George Graham and Tony Adams

Honourable mention to PV4 who I think would have liked to have said it given the chance

I wonder what the spuds players think about Pochettino’s take on success.

He’s more bothered about long term plans and taking the club forward rather than actually winning anything.

Spend your whole career there and win f**k all.

Exactly. It's all very well planning for tomorrow as long as tomorrow eventually comes

Otherwise all you've done is simply fail.

They have dragged to the race for CL spot and they are yet to play against both Liverpool and Manchester City away.

They seem done.

Apparently Pochettino had some friendly words with Torreira after the game, which probably helped him avoid further punishment.

Torreira was waiting in the tunnel to confront the referee after the game, and Pochettino stopped to have a word with him and tell him he knew his tackle was not malicious, and that if he confronted the ref he would make things worse for himself. He then put an arm around him and handed him over to one of Emery's coaches.

Fair play to him if this is true.

Poch on 2019-02-10: We're in the title rice.

Since then: L-L-D-L-L

Gone from 5 points off the top and 9 points clear of 4th to potentially finishing 6th.

Have a fantastic new stadium, but it'll be filled with shit. Such a shame, you really hate to see it.
