Unbelievable FFS.

Don't get me wrong, Liverpool have been very good this season and Salah has been immense. But the level of luck is just insane. Every scenario that is on a knife edge, that could go either way, goes their way. How they've not conceded at least one goal in this game is beyond me.

I don't think I've seen such a sustained period of good luck for a title challenger for a long time. Two thirds of a season gone and they haven't had a single sustained period of misfortune. Decisions, injuries, margins. All in their favour.

It grinds my gears.

Some of his passing was very impressive
He would be a great addition one that is only going to go up in cost, now is the only time we will be able to afford the price tag

I have posted so many times about this, not just applying it to this season but in the past. I've used the word 'supernatural' to describe the fortune they have which might seem OTT and hand-wringing, but it just keeps happening. Some of it is down to the fear factor. Anyone who makes a decision against them or says something other than praise, is instantly a candidate for the Scouse version of the Wicker Man. Buried in a tower of hub caps or something.

Their presence in the media also adds to their influence, like the Marca-Real dynamic in Spain. Redknapp, Carragher, Souness. Owen, McManaman, Danny Murphy and Stephen Warnock and I've probably missed a few.

However, losing leads against Villa, Brighton, City and the Dippers themselves doesn't exactly help us out. We need to look after ourselves and once three points are in the bag, then worry about the others.

This is a very good Liverpool team no doubt, but if Manchester City were on their game like last season Liverpool would be second best...I agree 100% with the belief that the love from the media and all the ex Liverpool players in the print and other media outlets elevates them to a level that in reality they haven't reached.
There is a narrative in the media that Liverpool have to be the best, on and off the pitch. The fawning over the " incredible atmosphere " at Anfield for example..I have been to Anfield as an Arsenal supporter and on one occasion as a neutral and it is no better or worse than Highbury or The Emirates. The myths about Liverpool support is only matched by the myth of the Geordies at St James Park...
I genuinely believe that the media, apart from their own ex players, are afraid of Liverpool. The Sun's coverage post Hillsborough was very wrong and upsetting for the families of those that died, and as a result of that Liverpool fans are given a free hand by the media, best example was the destruction of the Manchester City bus before a Champions League game...Compare the coverage of that to the coverage of the attack on Manchester United's bus before the last ever game at Upton Park.

No such thing as luck at this level. Salah might be firing but £64m Nunez is not. They have cover though thanks to Jota and Gakpo. If we signed proper cover, we'd have been OK too.

We were 8 points ahead of everybody in 22/23 up to the final 6 weeks of the season, and that was helped by making 3 signings in Jan....

There is definitely a thing such as luck at this level. In fact, as the margins are so tight, it's probably more telling than at lower levels.
