Or......they could just enforce the Laws that already exist?

The football authorities are so up their own arse they forget that their role is to facilitate the match running smoothly

Its being tested in the lower leagues appaz.....we'll see if it gets any further!

Whilst it sounds like a crap idea generally, I'd love to see any grappling at corners and free kicks outlawed and the sin bin might be a good penalty for it.

Take players off for the corners grappling there would be no players

It's all WWE now, mate. It's all about the show. Not about the sport.

I mean, they don't even enforce the goalkeeper time wasting rule, which is black and white. But they want to add layers of complexity. Bullshitters.

The sport needs needless complexity stripped away, not more added.

This will be to help officials influence results for the betting syndicates.
With refereeing in the mud in terms of consistency, the last thing needed is even more nuance… unless there are are other reasons beyond fair refereeing.

It needs to be applied only in very specific situations and none other because then you are going to get more inconsistent refereeing.

It won't be though.
One game a player will get a blue card for simply complaining about a refereeing decision and then in another they won't.
It could even happen within a game.
This is simply a tool to give refereeing bias another tool, which is what VAR is with the whole process of subjectivity over what is clear and obvious.

The TV companies need the manufactured drama, the pundits are entertainers first, all false banter . Failing to finish in the top two of the lower divisions is rewarded with the potential to play in a Wembley final... Football can be exciting enough for the genuine fans, it doesn't need doctoring to suit TV .

Grappling is already not technically within the rules, refs just do nothing about it. Blue cards won't change that.
