The goal that was but wasn't at Palace yesterday says it all for me. Kind of decision that could start a riot.......

Linesmans at fault big time! Doesn't help though having a bar at the back of the net! I'm not in favour of video refs tbh. I think it would make grassroots football harder to ref!

I can remember it happening to Palace before.

Clive Allen scored with a free-kick for them, it hit the back of the net and came back out and the ref didn't give the goal.
Would have been early 80's.

Actually he awarded Fulham a penalty! Consulted the Linesman on the influence of Arsenal players and the reversed the decision and got slated by all the media even though it was the correct decision

There was one more recently (could have been Palace again) where the ball went in, but through the net at the side and out again. The referee thought the ball had gone wide and didn't award the goal.

Anyone remember Chris Kamara going mental a couple of years ago during Fulham vs Boro?

Until they put it in i will always be slightly wary of corruption in the premier league. Dogdy refs or refs with biases will not be able to make their tainted decisions with video technology so it is being put down.

Video evidence ?

Postby AlistairMitchell » Sun Aug 16, 2009 7:50 pm

I saw the goal that never was yesterday crystal palace i think it was.

Just wondering if everyone thinks this is the green light for video evidence in football?

Disscused it yesterday and one that came up the most was challenges like in tennis a team can have a few of these for each game.

What does everyone else think ?
