Long ban incoming, in fact under UK law he could theoreticality get a 1-10 year all stadium ban, that won't happen, but it was a silly thing to do.

The FA are to blame, running onto the playing surface requires under FA rules fans to be identified by the club and receive a ban, also for the club to be fined and sanctioned, repeatedly turning a blind eye to over enthusiastic celebrations has led to the return of pitch invasions. Everton should be massively fined and forced to play three games next season in an empty stadium.

The same goes for flares, a tragedy will happen, only then will the FA step up and apply sanctions to clubs not identifying and banning fans with flares.

Will we now invade the pitch on Sunday?

Pretty silly from Pat really.
A lot depends in the person he kicked, whether they were injured.
I think a ban will be incoming but could be worse.
Fan just got 24 weeks in prison for assaulting a Shed Utd member of staff during a pitch invasion.

The problem is that it will be Vieira in trouble.
I think Vieira should have punched his face in, but it’s not going to work out well for him.
Needs to control it.
It’s a but like players niggling on the pitch and the player who reacts to it getting sent off ..,

… well unless you react to an Arsenal player of course - then you get let off.

Maybe a hug for the good job he’s done this season.
No kiss until he wins the league.
… and if he wins the CL ….

I doubt there will be a reaction at all. The fan should never have been on the pitch in the first place . Sticking two fingers in someone's face while filming? What do you expect? Clearly someone that was looking for a reaction, and he got it.

The security was, as Crystal Palace has rightly pointed out, a complete joke. There was a minor pitch invasion earlier in the game.

The FA needs to get a grip on this before someone gets seriously injured.

We live in dodgy times, how does a player or manager know if a 'fan' has a knife on him or not and might use it seriously injuring him. It could be classed as self defence.

Life bans for all pitch invaders, and severe fines for perpetrators and clubs. We can't have this continue

The bottom line is there's an issue nobody's talking about and that is that there's a big increase of cocaine use among fans at football. You can clearly see it at matches. People absolutely off their heads.

Punish people for going on pitches - although life ban is way too much - but the moment you start fining and punishing the clubs is when the fences come back (or some other measure that ruins things for everyone, or worse).
Those kind of extreme measures are not required.

Time for fences.

British are widely regarded as the worst fans in the business and we are pretty much proving that this week as well as the Euro final last year.

No reason for any fan to be on the pitch ever.

I recall a game against Norwich back in the late 80's when it went off on the pitch right near the end. Me and a few mates surged toward the front shouting 'on the pitch'. Some fella in front of us joined in and jumped up out of the east stand standing area and onto the pitch. We of course stopped just short. He got about 3 yards before realising he was on his own and we were all laughing at him. He spun around and dived back into the crowd.
